The Aegis Coat

$14.00

The Aegis Coat sewing pattern is a swing coat with a color blocked wave through the middle, perfect for making waves this winter.  The neckline is a raised stovepipe which looks great with or without a scarf. The neckline also features fitting darts for a close shape.  The horizontal wave panels disguise side seam pockets discreetly. The sweeping hem should hit around the hip for magical movement. Additionally, the Aegis Coat is fully lined by machine, requiring minimal hand stitching.

The Aegis coat is a size-inclusive sewing pattern with 2 separate size ranges for straight sizing 2-20 and a plus size range for sizes 14-40. Both size ranges are drafted on a 5’8 model. We use 3D fitting and 2 different drafting blocks to ensure a good fit. The coat will require 2-4 yards of fabric for the lining and another 2-4 for the outer layer. The color block will require another 1-2 yards of contrast fabric. Ideal fabrics for The Aegis Coat are heavy wool and cotton fabrics. This is an intermediate-level pattern in a digital format. The files are provided in A0, A4, and US Paper sizes for easy printing. The Plus and Straight files are in separate .zip files.

We present Paper Anchor sewing instructions as a Zine with guidance and tips to infuse your Aegis Coat with joyful intentions and creative ritual; so you not only look great, but you feel amazing in your finished garments. Sewing with Paper Anchor is all about adorning yourself with magic and building a life full of joy. When you feel the way you want to feel, everything you want comes to you with ease. We practice rituals to enhance our creativity and focus our minds while we sew and we want to show you how incredible it feels to treat sewing as a spiritual practice. Please share your creation with us on Instagram @paper_anchor, we can’t wait to see it!
